Pretty sad, isn't it?? The hardest part for me as that so many attempt to justify man's brutality to man in the name of A Higher Power.Also, as long as we say, "Hey, that's what people are like." ...what chance do we have to realize the reality that all actions result in some sort of reaction? "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me." Pass it on.....

There are so many brilliant minds in the world with tons of ideas that could make a real difference. Instead we pander to 'the right credentials', rock and movie stars - athletes. If 1% of those salaries was used to fund people that think, that have useful ideas, we could, perhaps, go forward and not slip into economic and intellectual oblivion as we appear to be doing in the US.

Ethanol from corn consumes a ton of energy to produce and transport..most farm equipment still powered by deisel. It is not as efficient as fossil fuels and the cost is already affecting food prices. We have a choice in whether we drive or not...food is a different story and affects many more people. No more band-aids..new ideas, nuclear and hydro need to be readressed in a meaningful way.
