According to Fred Hassan, you need to look beyond short-term numbers to truly gauge a leader's success. Indeed, one of the keys to turning business challenges into success is the ability to create, or where necessary, reinvent, an organizational culture. 

According to Hassan, business leaders in every industry need to learn to be authentic, purposeful and connected to their organization in order to serve as a role model for a successful team. That is where transformational leadership begins. As Hassan argues, pushing for short-term gain at the expense of creating a productive culture simply doesn't work.
