Today's Big Idea: Science and Religion

Does science and religion always have to conflict with each other? Does science render faith unnecessary or can its principles and ideas actually reinforce our faith?  Kadam Morten Clausen, meditation teacher, offers insight to an aspect of Buddhism that shows religion and science are not that different, as they both share an investigative tradition that requires experience, reason and testimony.

If that wasn't enough to convince you, neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Newberg took it a step further by studying the human brian during religious experiences. What he found was that his subjects' interaction with God resulted in a physical reaction in their brains which was visible through gamma rays.

Today, our experts help us bridge the gap between science and religion by offering various perspectives in how the two fields overlap and work together to enhance our world view.
