Today's Big Idea: Humanizing Technology

The recent battles over SOPA and PIPA have highlighted the widespread belief that the internet is an unprecedented tool for fostering human creativity, and that its power lies precisely in its chaotic, unlimited nature. Indeed, neuroscientific research into creativity supports the idea that unlikely connections and juxtapositions are the very essence of creative thinking – and that our imaginative faculties can be stimulated by precisely the sort of disorientation the internet can provide.
