Fads once used to define cultures between generations. However, it is now common for generations just a few years apart to be as distant as they are from their parents. This is illustrated with the rise in popularity of limelight-craving shows and websites, each targetted to a specific group. Will this trend of generation isolation continue until such a point is reached that people can only identify with those within a few years of their own age? Is this a trend of superficiality or simly a positive direction that is not understood?
