Re: Risky Business: A Bet on Obama vs. Hillary's Steady Returns
OmarS I can't vote for Hilary. When Bush first started thumping the drums for war, Hilary was in a position to speak up against it. Instead she chose to demonstrate she's capable of being a neocon, and supported it. She claims she mistook Bush's intentions, but this is a lie. She went on supporting this war until the polls turned against it. Up through that, she was on board with Bush. I cannot support someone so lacking in a sense of responsibility and morality that she'd sell lives and destroy nations if it would promote her political ambitions. If Hilary wins the primaries, Democr… Read More

Re: Bush, Clinton, Bush...Clinton?
Is Mitt Romney high? Clinton turned a deficit left behind by Republicans, into a surplus. We were at our best as an economy and as a society under Clinton. Reduction in crime, better relations with other countries, more prosperity. What did Bush give? A record deficit. A million Iraqis dead, several thousand Americans dead. A war without reason, rationalized by a series of lies to the American people. America's education system now lags behind. Lost jobs. Middle Class experiencing a declining standard of living thanks to stagnant wages. Republicans try to convince us that job losses are… Read More

I like Obama. He seems to have typical democratic ideals. Strong on health care, the economy. Importantly, he can represent America to the world as someone who didn't jump on board with Bush's war and his neoconservative bully-to-the-world attiude. Read More

Re: kill income tax, highten slaes tax?
The problem I see with this is an 8 dollar loaf of bread, or a 10 dollar gallon of milk. The underlying objective of Hucckabee and others like him, is to have everyone pay relatively the same amount in taxes. This would mean the poor would pay a larger proportion of their income in taxes than the rich. Granted, the rich tend to buy more, but the sum in terms of taxes will be relatively the same for essentials. If the Republicans get this kind of thing through, America will become a third world country. The middle class will be washed away, unable to afford essentials, much less luxuries… Read More

Why I can't stant Hilary Clinton.
I don't know why this isn't being pointed out: For the entirety of the first year of the war in Iraq, Hilary supported it absolutely. She claims she only sought to afford Bush the means to deal with Iraq, not to actually do it. She also claimed she had objections to his war when it began. Anyone with access to media at the time, newspapers and footage, can attest to the fact that she was a staunch supporter of the war well after it began, and continued to support it until the polls showed people were getting tired of it. Until recently, she had been pandering to the extreme neoconservat… Read More

Today the majority of Americans blame Bush and the White House for this war in Iraq. Who are we kidding? Hundreds of thousands of protestors worldwide begged America to refrain from war in weeks leading up to the invasion. We KNEW that UNSCOM was in Iraq, and that they had found no evidence of weapons of mass destruction. Hanz Blix and his team only left Iraq because they were told that the US war planes were coming. The reason America invaded Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 or WMDs. We were angry at a particular Arab and his organization. We went to Afghanistan to find him and couldn… Read More

I have nothing but disdain for this woman and her promotion of the US neoconservative pro-war agenda. Iran has every reason to hate America. It was the Americans and the British that gave support to the overthrow of Musaddeq, for no other reason than that he wanted to ensure that Iran has sovereign control over its own oil. A brutal and self-serving shah was installed, who was then overthrown in favor of the current conservative islamist government. Iran never did anything to harm America. America did in fact attack the Iranians. And lets not forget the support America lended to Saddam … Read More

AMERICA: The most influential to World, and yet most oblivious of the World.
No doubt the United States is the most influential nation in the world as a culture and as a power. Our style of music, our food, our clothe, everything's being followed and copied around the world. But it seems to me that when it comes to awareness of one-another, America stands out as being particularly isolated. Take sports for example. Throughout the rest of the world, Cricket and Soccer are the most popular games for inter-national competition and championships. People become aware of other nations through these games, the way A New Yorker might become aware of other states via base… Read More
