But I don’t see how Non-Proliferation Treaties would help; Treaties are agreements which can be ignored with impunity. If the danger is great, why not follow out the thought? We are living in the world of 1914, but with nuclear arms. If it is really in everyones interest to avoid nuclear war, then it would seem to be a no-brainer that the only way to control them is by a World Nuclear Authority, a representative body, under Laws, which would have to be fair (i.e. no drivel about who’s dangerous and who’s not) and control them all, and requiring a consensus about using them . If we don’t do some such thing , then, yes some small country might, but after all , it’s just another weapon, and not a very useful one at that. dsigny
