Neko Ng commented on What is the measure of a good life? on May 19, 2008, 10:39 AM

How to measure good life is subjective. Based on the individual's yardstick. Although I have to agree with Deepak Chopra that a good life is realisation of one's goal, his measure is more altruistic. In different backgrounds, a poverty-stricken countries like Zimbawe, a good life is having a meal a day and able to live to see another day.

I actually like this idea. Although it is rather idealistic, expertise is one strength which international organisations should tap on to solve global issues. As pointed out by Rischard, since we are all part of the human race, we should put aside our selfish interest and solve these urgent issues at hand. However, many people are pragmatic, not to mention greedy so politics will definitely come into play during the selection process and the solution may not be as effective as projected

Browne didn't really answer the question, did he? Globalisation has changed fashion when European designers launched their designs then copied and mass produced in China or Vietnam. Costs are lowered and exported everywhere so there is no distinct style anymore. Fashion icons are dime a dozen as their style are created by the same few stylists.
