In what sense does Mitt Romney differ from George Bush?

If we can afford to spend resources on a war in Iraq that has no end in sight, surely we can afford health insurance for Americans. If you want to cut wasteful spending, cut what's being spent in Iraq. Also, I see no objection to the billions Bush just gave to Israel, a country with a developed economy and an already able military. Isn't that wasteful spending?

It makes no sense to me that vital needs of the American people get labeled as 'wasteful spending' by the Republicans, while investing in conflicts and promoting violence abroad seems worthwhile to them.
