MEDIA & THE PRESS

Re: are satirical news shows news

They are a unique blend, no doubt. The fact that so many individuals choose these venues, all for their own reasons, just as you, is what's important; to observe and learn from.

I respect and enjoy most of the satirical "news" programs for how well they bridge-the-gap, between what their viewers want to experience and how they wish to "entertain." At least, they are not "pretending" to be something they are not, as opposed to the "real" media "maintaining an image."

It's probable that this approach to news/entertainment will become more and more mainstream. It may very well be the answer for consumers who have complained for decades, "Why isn't there more good news reported"?

Instead,"Let's provide information with more "humanness" and not be avoid humor, as appropriate.
