- Women + Everything = Sex, Study Finds
- Sigmund Freud once cited the inquiry, “What does a woman want?” as the universe’s greatest unanswered question. The media and the world of psychology are both abuzz with optimism this week at the possibility that such a question might have been answered in a new book called Why Women Have Sex.

Mary Roach, you are too much! “or ‘a big clitoris’ for the feminists.”
As a feminist I tried to teach my daughters ‘the birds and the bees’ but am not as comfortable with the language as others!
Thank goodness for sex education at their school (in Europe) and reruns of Sex and the City. (The reruns brought up a lot of good questions, even some I could answer.)
This idea made me remember the following humorous educational animation.

The clitoris has 6,000 nerve endings- like TWICE the number of nerve endings in the penis. It’s an extremely sensitive bundle of nerves that is ignored, circumcized, under-studied and feared.

Is she for real? She sounds like a moron. I don’t see any “big think” on her part – just a lot of silly giggling. She needs to take an anatomy/physiology course!

I didn’t get much out of this segment, but I did check out the “Where is Clito” animated short that Vicki recommended. I can’t remember when I laughed so hard. I think it would probably spark more discussion than this actual segment.

I didn’t know athis and Mary presents the info in a charming way. Do most people know how to make such measurements as done in the study?
