Sifting through information is a lot like panning for gold. If future technology can sort interest groups and aggregate opinion into a meaningful coalitions for change, it would be a step forward. That being said, the risk here is the marginalizing of the smaller percentages of people who, in fact, represent figures that stagger the imagination. Online voting would be one of the big steps forward.
