I know that I just shot an arrow into the war of Atheism Vs. Christianity but if we have time can we also discuss this topic. I’m a laymen and don’t understand economics like Roakes does but isn’t this spat the central issue to our global recession? Are we to blame the get rich quick day-traders or the lazy hold on to stock no matter what crew? Is it something that should be a blame game or is a real illegal activity going on, where the death of capitalism comes from the greediest capitalist? Cramer: “Should we have been constantly hammering their positions? Of course.” I l… Read More

(one of the many) Weak Atheist Arguments
There are so many numerous weak philosophical atheist arguments its hard to pinpoint just one to bash on, but this one just has to be by far the worse. The idea that history has pushed Christ through because of its keeping the masses subverted ideas. Why is this a ridiculous idea? As atheists like to point out didn't Jesus say that our next life is our treasure? Didn't the Holy word lay a claim for servants to honor their masters? Didn't it deny this existence importance? Yes atheists it did, but follow with me here: ALL Christians are supposed to follow Christ lead in leadership. Mea… Read More

To the world God’s word is foolishness; to God’s people the worlds knowledge is elementary. Isaiah 55:8-9 states: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” This scripture firmly entrenches in my heart that the LORD God in his Word declares all things knowable to the Christian. If one is ministering in El Salvador one can’t expect not to learn the native tongue. As challenging as it is to learn a new language, it is the … Read More

Good and Evil (without God Please)
We on bigthink like to debate everything. I wrote this with that in mind. I hope not to attempt to invoke anyone's belief's. Whether it be religious or not. I want the tangible ideas that deal with real morality that is four dimensional and is debate able. I can't argue with your God or the idea of nothingness after death. This paper is just about the good and evil concept that we deal with here. On this earth, in this realm. What are your guy's thoughts on good/evil? First a quote..... "Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own?"Luke 6:4… Read More

Love? What are your thoughts on Love? These are mine...
Love, Love, Love, that is the soul of genius.~ Mozart. So I was reminded by my good friend Keegan, awhile back, that probably one of the most socially inept moments Ive ever experienced in my life was a statement I made to my ex-girlfriend, DeAnna, that said I know I loved you because I look up the meaning in Oxfords dictionary and the bible. As he and everyone else knows who is reading this you cant define Love from a book. You have to feel Love, and when it is there you just know. But what if you know wrong? My daughters mother I knew I was supposed to be with her when I was, however,… Read More

My Political Philosophy "Conservative have lost their damn minds. Liberals have lost their damn minds. If you make up your mind about an issue, before you hear the issue, you are an idiot." Chris Rock. Chris Rock isn't a politician; he is a comedian, but he best sums up my ideology. The primary problem in our culture of politics is the two-party system, which forces one to have to be "political" even if their individual ideologies on an issue are separate from their party's beliefs. It seems with the plethora of issues facing Americans tod… Read More

This is probably a question I wouldn't pose to my church, they may ask me to leave. I am hoping that my brothers and sisters in Christ on here are a little more tolerant to my biblical questions. Most of this information I put as a statement to Musycks about why I trust and Love the Gnostic Gospels. I look forward to what any other Christians think about these observations from one who accepts and acknowledges the Lord is my Saviour.Do you guys understand the council of Nicea and the political aspects that occured there to suppress the equality of the sexes? There were numerous Pharisee… Read More

If I were to post an Idea here, how would I know if anyone responded other than going through the laborious process of checking every idea I may or may not post? Do you know if you post an idea how many people have checked it who may or may not responded. I am basically brand new to this site and really impressed with the depth of dialogue here and would like to know how to use it best? Any long-term users figured out any information that could help a newbie? Also, has there been any mistakes you've made that you would advise others to avoid? Thanks for your time. Read More

Married June 30th 2009 with children as of Aug. 15 2009 who are aged 6,4,2. Incredibly busy but love to think, learn and discuss ideas on bigthink.
I tend to play "Devils Advocate" on here. I'd rather advance a thought process rather than muddle it along with affirmatives. Hence, any posting I put up may or may not be how I actually think. And please debate as rigorously as you like to any position I may take. Disagreement creates new understanding.
