I chose to ask a question on people's faith because faith has always intrigued me. At what point does a person have "faith"? I know a lot of Christians are saying someone needs to "walk the walk" to be a believer, but at what point does one start walking? Is there a conversion experience? And is that experience as simple as making a decision at a certain point to believe certain things? People also say that faith is "believing in things unseen", but can you have faith in things that you can see? And if faith is simply just believing in what you can't see, then do I have faith when I say that there are people in China? I can't say that I have ever heard a useful working definition of faith in my entire life, and was wondering if I could get some help in this area. I feel like I've been left with just a vague idea of what the word faith really means. … Read More

Entertainers and Athletes paid too much?
I've never understood why Celebrities and Athletes get paid so much more than anyone else. How is it that one man can make 14 million dollars simply putting a round ball through a hoop? Or how does an actress get paid so much for an hour and a half film? Has it ever bothered anyone else how much money these people make each year? It seems like one of these people's salaries could pay off a lot of other people's debt, or college tuition, or whatever. I'm not supporting socialism, but I do think that these people get paid way to much to simply entertain us. We even allow many of these people to get away with things that many people with less money and fame wouldn't be able to get away with. Wasn't America founded on equal justice for all? Not just decent justice for the poor, and let the rich off the hook because they can pay more. … Read More

Death is certainly a very scary term to many people. Some don't know whether there is an afterlife, or if they just cease to go on living. I have just a few questions for anyone willing to respond. Which scares you more, the death of a loved one, or your own death? Do you fear your own death to the point of not doing certain activities? Do you live your life as if you might die today? What scares you the most about death? Where does your fear of death rank in comparison to your other fears? Death has just always intrigued me, so I was wondering how other people felt about it. There was a time in my life where I would have liked to have died, but have come to realize to desiring death might not be such a healthy thought process. Anyone's feedback to these questions is appreciated. … Read More

I believe that you make a valid point. If Christians acted the way they are actually told to in the Bible, I think that the world as a whole would have a different opinion of them. It would be almost "cool" to be Christian, because that would mean that you were loving people and doing what you could to help those around you. I think this is very similar to the way things were nearer to the beginnings of America. At one point, it was cool to be a Christian, so then everyone started saying they were "saved" just so that they could be on the "in" crowd. I think this phenomenon may have soiled the Christian name in America. Most "Christians" in America don't act the way that the Bible calls people to act. How many widows and orphans is the church really taking care of in its own backyard? How many people are being clothed and fed and visited while sick or in prison? I agree with your post, and believe that people need to start living the way they're supposed to if anything is going to change.

In the end though it all just ends in death doesn't it? What's the point? I admit I'm a bit of a nihilist, but really I just don't see the point in living 80 painful years on this earth and knowing that everything I do will one day crumble and be forgotten. Really, how many people are remembered even 10 years after they die?
