i agree with herb mus and vers even if there was a all knowing god what would be the point in asking or help? if he intended on helping you wouldn't it already be there? and if he already has a set plan for everything everywhere what good would he be to us? sink or swim baby aka survival of the fittest.

hey jason! i have to disagree wit a few things you said and i wanna point something out. first a fact can't be debated, atleast not with a sound argument maybe with an opinion of some type but normally that means someone "didn't get the memo", was uneducated about a topic. theres a difference between facts and common beliefs or common knowledge. i.e.the earth at one point was considered to be flat now (im not pointing no fingers at who encouraged that) but for a lot of people that used to be a fact. but as it turns out it was just common knowledge.  i am a human from a planet that i call earth. thats a fact and its forever. evolution has been proven by just about every type of biology at mans disposal. which poses a problem for alot of creation stories.  Now i said that to say this Religion has always been in question so don't think for a second that any of this is new the science has evolved for the better of man. christianity has'nt changed much at all it has  outside of adapted to new people, it remains the same. in fact if you look at several different religions you can't miss the amount evidence that says christianity was plagurized just like alot of religions at a point when there were only a few who would've argued this many were'nt educated and many were poor and so most did as they were told, just like a child being bought into a religion it did't choose namely because the inquistions and its violent influence so as u see this was life and death talk.  many scholars had to hide in paintings and in art their true feelings about what was going on.  even advancing new ideas in science could get you killed or thrown in jail. these my friend are facts. imagine where we would be if science wouldn't have suffered for so long. in other words where would we be scientifically in say 300 yrs? (the roman inquistion) even a 100 yrs is a long time for advancement and its been atleast that in every inquistion and there were a few. so if pick and idea and drill it into a group of people like that for a couple centuries and i bet it'll stick. so you see there is a way to disprove religion but only to unbiased/open minds and however im not saying god can but consider this. politics and religion have been walking side by side for ages, if you don't believe me get a history book and choose a region of the world at any point where theres civilization, every living thing on this planet has the abilty to learn, even cells adapt to their envirement. Politics and religion both are guilty of supressing knowledge if you need some kind of hint of the purpose of doing this look at what they say and compare it to what they do as a whole. if god created all things and all living things were given the abilty to learn is that not a gift from god in itself it would seem to me the more we learn the better off we are which in turn would also make one harder to control. so you see in most cases especially in this one knowledge is key to control.  how is it not evil to deny knowledge to another seeking indivdual and how is that honest? and if its not honest how is it holy? there have been many evil things that have been done by various religions to do just that? and if you spend centuries teaching and forcing people to reject even simple well known and proven knowledge like evolution the answer is clear but only if you don't like being ignorant. but if you like not knowing and if ingorance is bliss then i assume if your best friend knew ya dentist did things to your mouth everytime you went, while you were in the chair sedated you would rather not know. so yea ignorance can be bliss but for who really? musycs said it best earlier its so many holes in the christian story i honestly the bond would have to be mental because there's almost nothing to completly believe so where is all the god given logic? even the 10 commandments can be questioned.   "War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty...This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the resume of a Supreme Being. This is the kind of shit you'd expect from an office temp with a bad attitude..."-George Carlin
