Wow, prayer…. what a concept?
Reflection and quietude I'm all for… peace and self knowledge.. great… but prayer? hmmm…. why, and to whom?
'please sink this putt' 'please cure my childs illness'.. etc..
most of the religious types believe in the omnicient/omnipotent model, so not much reason to pray to that God… it's going to play out how he designed it knucklehead, so he can't change it, or he'd be contradicting his own omnicience!.. they try to defy logic and water it down with the 'free will' caveat… and don't understand why rational people see it for the tripe it is.
Social activism?… I'd swallow that a little easier if a few of the religious activists were not simultaneaously pushing their own god version as an attachment to their actions.
prayer?… how to feel like you're doing something when you're doing nothing.
