Mr. Wales seems confused about what “information” or “intelligence” (in that sense) is. Objective information especially about foreigners’ ideas is (usually?) filtered out according to the ideology of the Bosses. The Vietnam era is only the most striking example of this. There wasn’t anything wrong with the information, the Administration simply rejected it on (perhaps unconscious)ideological grounds. That could be a very good reason for suggesting that maybe not having agencies like the CIA would save us from the Hubris of imagining that we actually understand the situation, and perhaps we would not be so quick to rush in to “fix it”. Our fix-it efforts have been a total flop in all cases, have they not? disigny
