Love the tie! I am a practising but not a believing Xian. An interesting but frustrating condition. What concerns me personally with believers is their absolutist, closed-minded beliefs. As a gay woman I have been beaten down by Xians more than I care to admit. The rejection of evolutionary theory by believers is equally confounding to say the least.

Jennifer Jones commented on Big Think Interview with Melissa Franklin on October 29, 2009, 2:27 PM

That was really great. ... and if we disappear into a black hole made by the Hadron Collider it will be so quick we won't really notice... love it! Thank you for showing one woman's perspective on being a particle physicist. I will take away from this presentation the words that what you are interested in is what makes you interesting... I have one regret in my life, and that is that I pursued the arts instead of the sciences. But I can still savor the wonder of science from spokespeople such as Melissa Franklin. Thank you. Jennifer

Jennifer Jones commented on Big Think Interview With Richard Dawkins on October 29, 2009, 1:45 PM

Bravo Richard Dawkins is my inspiration and beacon of sanity in aworld of religious intolerance. This segment should be posted under the faith section of BigThink where the non-beleivers and believers battle it out. Thanks again to Richard Dawkins for providing such a clear minded view of the role of science in the world.
