Fundamental Secularist? It's the same non-sense that theists say about science relying on belief. You don't have to have faith in science. Prove the science wrong just once and it looks for different answers. Prove religion wrong and you are told that you are not reading it properly and that it is metaphorical. Logic is the basis of science. Faith is the basis of religion. Planes fly on scientific truths. When a planes crashes, we use science to find out why. If we actually used the same standard to judge science as we do religion, we would still believe that the sun revolves around the earth.www.disillusionedwords.com

So "God" gave his only son to sacrifice him for our sins? So he is he appeasing by doing so? And what of his omnipotence? An all powerful being, who is also all-seeing, must want things to be exactly as they are, or they would automatically change to what his will is. For this being to be omnipotent and omniscient, he cannot be benevolent, as he would already know who is going to hell. Since he knows ahead of time (omniscience) that they will commit sins and doesn't stop them from doing them and going to hell, he must want them to suffer. For it to be otherwise would render all our definitions of these words absurd. If our definitions are absurd, language itself breaks down and becomes meaningless. If language is meaningless, the Bible is meaningless. If the Bible is meaningless, God is meaningless.Check out: www.disillusionedwords.comP.S. Jordan, you said nothing. Fancy wording does not equal meaning.L and G, read all of "End of Faith"

The burden of proof is on the one who makes the positive claim. In other words, if one asserts "I believe God exists" the burden of proof is on this person to prove it. If one assert "I believe God does not exist" the burden of proof is on this person. However, there is no burden of proof on one who says, "I do not believe God exists." This is a lack of assertion. There are two sides stances on Faith: Theism (belief) and atheism (no belief). Agnosticism has been bastardized. It means "without knowledge". One is either a, agnostic theist or an agnostic atheist, but not simply agnostic.www.disillusionedwords.com
