Imagine that a new technology was invented that eliminated the use of conventional fuels for vehicles, and instead uses a resource that's free or low cost (e.g. non-potable water), allowing everyone to be able to move around freely without regard to cost. What would happen to our society and our economy? Discuss the pros and cons.

Pros: Everyone would be able to get to work and school easily.
Mass transit and different energy source would retain some jobs and create some new jobs.
It would be easy to travel to different countries.
May start a cultural revolution because artists could collaborate in person.
Would be able to set up an industry to reclaim usable parts of transportation vehicles.
Once petroleum spills were cleaned up wouldn’t have to worry about new spills or having to start another clean up.
Can’t think of any pros but will think about some more.
