Don’t come here looking for advice.
Run while you still have the chance.
You and Karmanical back on the same night.
Weird.
Fresh blood, from old Big Thinkers.
Seriously, my advice, don’t seek advice.

Not sure what to think, you have an extremely narrow and closed minded viewpoint from my recollection. My advice would be to stop the faith/belief nonsense, and try to understand that in the 21st century, there is no need to continue to embrace the false promises and exaggerated claims of the primitive “thinkers”.

Such positive feedback hahaha. HealingZero you were right.
I say, if you have a strong sense of discernment you should meditate/contemplate/pray/deep think, whatever you want to call it, on matters and find what suits you best in the most honest and positive way possible.

some people find the phrase ‘god bless’ demeaning and offensive… meditate on that and say hi to your imaginary friend for me.

wow, you guys feel better? that was all pretty unnecessary…
Thatguy, in the general sense, I always thought discernment as it applies to the religious refers to the Holy Spirit as a guide in instances where you are seeking spiritual truths… but when you claim you have discovered you have this gift, what do you mean?
HerbieP on September 23, 2008, 2:07 AM
thatguy how have you managed to learn that you have this gift without knowing what it is?
Musycks on September 23, 2008, 4:14 AM
Gift? from where? to what purpose? spare me.. thatguy does not argue from an intellectual standpoint but from an emotional one. His credibility is roughly zero if you’ve read his prior posts..
pokój! on September 23, 2008, 7:37 PM
whatever… most of us do that… i couldn’t care less about credibility…
pokój! on September 23, 2008, 7:41 PM
check that, I do care about credibility when it applies to the topic… but not in this context… this is one of those topics that isn’t really addressed to atheists anyway it would seem…
Musycks on September 29, 2008, 4:24 AM
just the brain dead it would appear?…

Discernment is the ability to find truth in a world of irrelevant or ignorant beliefs.
Enlightenment is discernment on a higher than average level of thinking, which religion does not promote.
Critical thinking is progress, the faith/belief paradox thinking is regression into the dark ages of intellectual stagnation.

mus, ss, I think thatguy meant discernment as it applies to Christians refers to the ability of an individual to recognise the Holy Spirit in their decisions… the ability to know spiritual truths wherever you come across them…

I was hoping that I would be told to “piss off” etc., like humes was, I would consider that a compliment, but this seems to be a drive-by posting.
