Safe from what? You need to be specific. Besides high oil price is not the reason why we are in Iraq. It it for strategical control of a valuable commodity. Few people understand this, but one of the reason why Japan entered WWII was because they had an oil embargo. It would have crashed their economy. I think I heard something about Cheney trying to break OPEC by seizing control of Iraqi oil fields but who the hell knows...
