The Preventative State

What is said towards the end of the video is key. These attacks and crimes are not a solid reality that we have to maneuver around as the upholders of justice, these are merely symptoms of a greater problem. In the example of suicide bombers, like he said, we must take away the deplorable state of poverty and conflict that these individuals are living in. The phenomena of sexual predators I would say that it is a failure of community to reach out to those who are not of the proper maturity to know that its wrong. They are a product of a culture and social structure that is making it increasingly easy for a person to lead an isolated lifestyle where their loneliness leads to perversion. Parents must also take responsibility for educating their children about the danger and preparing them in self defence.

Why focus only on blue-collar crimes and terrorists? Seems to me some of the worst damage to society is done through white collar crimes. Think: the S&L fiasco, Enron, the sub-prime mortgage mess, the thousands upon thousands of developments world-wide carried out because some government employee was bribed - how do you undo that damage? How do you undo the crimes of the current administration, including an unjustified war, trillion-dollar debt and untold environmental damage?

While I don't mean to triviliaze the damage caused by terrorists and sexual predators, if you are thinking large scale, theysimply don't compare to white collar crime.

You want to re-structure jurisprudence toward a preventative approach, fine, we can have that debate. But at least get the right target in your sights. 

Looks like this is advocating safety over the rule of law of the Constitution.

We would have never been thow into current conditions if the republican and democrat political system did not approve the preemptive strike  invasion of Iraq and disregard the national soverrignty of the middle east nations.

 the preemptive strike and act of aggression violates the nuremburg principles for commiting an act of aggression on another nation. The principles for formulated with the leadership of a US Supreme Court Justice by appointment of pres Truman.  The Congress assumed power they did not have by authorizing this preemptive act of aggression.

The are all accountable to this international law which the United States is a signatory to.

Mr D you have a lot of nerve to look for ways to destroy our constitution for the criminal acts against it by the republican and democrat political system. 

We must get rid of the political system and backfill with people that will govern according to the specifics of the Constitution.

Safety will be restored when we mind our own business and restrict ourselves the legal and physical borders of the United States of America 

So if we adopt this phylosophy can we use it in other arears? Say like I have the idea to donate $1000 to save the children and right out the check, then don't send it. Have I done any good?

Can I use the good intention on my taxes?

What happens to the person that relizes he has had some bad teachings or just plain old wrong thinking? Is he/she still punished? How for do we take it?
