Re: Religion in a Modern World

Jim states quite clearly (and eloquently) that social movements are his top priority for religion in our modern world. This may seem muddy if your thinking is muddy. To me it is crystal clear.

The goal is to utilize religious structures as institutions to promote social justice.

The idea here is that in order to truly bring about the revitalizing change that occurs though such social movements, one must contemplate in solitude and reflection, to receive a divine revelation and guidance.

Jim, you rock. I saw you on CNN for the Compassion Forum, it was awesome. Barack Obama is able to articulate this vision incredibly.
