Religion is a forum to bring people together and is a method to create civilization just like philosophy or science. That being the said, the real threat to humankind isn’t the extremes, it’s the center. At the center there is no motion. Without motion, it becomes stagnant and dies. Sam Harris complements Richard Cizik in that they are both unreasonable with their fundamentalisms. Therefore, they are essential for humankind to evolve intelligently. Life is a potluck. Mind what you bring.
