Tom Watson

Global Leadership Fellow, World Economic Forum

For over a decade, Tom has focused oncreative problem solving. Most recently this focus has been on building innovative multi-stakeholder partnerships to address global issues, including natural disaster risk mitigation, and design of new financial mechanisms for climate change and biodiversity.

Currently based in San Francisco, he is helping create an Innovation hub, the Institute for Large Scale Innovation, to help society better deal with the big challenges to which it is exposed. Design thinking and inter-disciplinary collaboration are at the heart of his work, which is being supported by a new platform called the innovation cloud to link a global network ofinnovation leaders, the so-called i20.

In 2008, Tom became a Global Leadership Fellow at the World Economic Forum. Prior to this, he was a strategy consultant for five years, and holds a Masters degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Tom has also been a guest speaker at various summits, including the Doha round of Development Finance, the Yale Environment Forum and Davos. He was recently made a Delphi Fellow at Big Think.
