Gary Becker

Economist, University of Chicago

Gary Becker is a Nobel prize-winning economist and professor at the University of Chicago. He was one of the first economists to study sociological phenomena, like crime, drug addiction, and racial discrimination, from an economic perspective. He has co-written a popular blog with Federal Judge Richard Posner since 2004.

Becker was featured in our "Month of Thinking Dangerously" series, contributing the dangerous idea that we should consider selling American citizenship to the highest bidder
