Question: How did having a child affect your life?

Chudy Nduaka: Well, actually, it's given me more of a drive but it's also slowed me down in some ways, too. Because Michael, my son, he's just about two months old now and he's such an adorable boy, but he knows nothing about, you know, the problems in Africa or the problems here in the U.S. right now, because he's just a baby. And all he does is eat and sleep, eat and sleep, but when I look at him it reminds me dearly of the children in Africa that have nothing, not even half of what he has. I tell you, Michael's room now is just filled with gifts from all over the world, you know, because he's blessed with parents who have extensive connections all over the world, but every single day since Michael was born, gifts have been coming in. So he's got a lot. And you know, food is not an issue, he's getting fed all the time. But he reminds me on a daily basis that there are kids like him, who we've seen, who cry for food and can't get it. And it's happening not just in one country but in so many countries all over the world, particularly in Africa.
