Residential WattStation: Sleek Electric Vehicle Charging for the Home

Last month, design and innovation firm fuseproject introduced WattStation — a revolutionary electric vehicle charging station for public spaces, developed in partnership with GE. Leveraging the technology and its critical acclaim, fuseproject has just released a residential version of GE WattStation, offering an easy-to-use charger intended to make the adoption of electric vehicles less effortful.

Designed to work with smart grid technology on local and regional grids, WattStation promises radically efficient charging, reducing charging time up to fourfold, from 12-18 hours to 4-8 hours compared to traditional chargers. Sleek and stylish, the device looks more like a modern home decor accessory than a utilitarian energy solution.

WattStation is expected to be commercially available next year.
