If love is the reflection of the traits we strive for in ourselves. Why do opposing people find attraction in each other?

I believe that we find affection in those opposite us because they have the traits that we are seeking. If we are striving for those traits then they are traits that we do not currently possess. Perhaps we find affection for our opposites because we are keeping them near to us in an effort to make obtaining these traits easier.

Love is the glue that holds the Universe together, the attracting power that holds our relationships, our familes, our culture, and the planets in orbit around each other.

Perhaps mental products are not designed that way because the goal is to take advantage of those weaknesses. (sadly)
