I believe that humans are omnivores, eating both meat and plant-based foods. The problem is that we eat WAY too much meat. We should cut back on the amount we eat, if we need it in our diet. I've tried MANY times to eat a vegetarian diet and get sick each time. I have cut back drastically on my consumption and only buy animal-based food where the animals have been treated humanely. Saying you can't be an environmentalist and eat meat, is like saying you can't be an environmentalist and drive a car, live in a house with electricity or have a baby (which is one of the worst offenses of all - although no one ever says it). The problem is the abuse of each thing that impacts the environment - as well as the unbelievable overpopulation of the planet.
