This may sound naive and impossible but to me makes the most sense. Our equity markets should me strictly auction markets based on supply and demand as are any other markets such as real estate and autos,etc.and all other investments which are derivative of the equities markets such as options, short selling, etc., etc., should be completely divorced from the auction market so as not to expose those who wish not to participate or be influenced by these other derivatives. Those wishing to take on extra risk should be left to their own devices and not impact those who are more conservative i. e. mutual funds, etf's.

Your views are consistent in many ways with Bill O'Reilly. He also believes that the system is pretty much broken and believes that education is our only salvation.

This is the most important point Mr. Byrne has made. The majority of the populace look at the media as a indisputable God and the final source of information. This power has been used to mold the minds of the people as to benefit those in the media and more importantly those who the media serve. Abssolute misuse of power hidden under the first amendment. However tuth always prevails.

I would find it most interesting to listen to Patrick at legth on this subject. My upbinging is a carbon copy of his and I have drawn the same conclusions. I believe that in the end we will be judged by how we have given of ourselves to the rest of the world. What and who the judge will be is left to interpatation of what God is. To many people have been killed because of this interpatation of God and I am sure this is not what God had intended. Religion is the foundation of civility and we build upon it to make a better world.
