Moderate Muslims are not denouncing terrorism in large numbers and in no uncertain terms. Their silence suggests they agree with violent methods which advance the cause of their religion. Violence in other traditions, for example Catholics who bomb abortion clinics, are clearly marginalized and thus considered a lunatic fringe. The Clash is real.

I would be wary of ascribing specific motives to a group of people as large as moderate muslims. Silence in particular doesn't really suggest anything in particular. The people could agree with the tactics, or find them to be so irrelevant to what they do that they don't even bother engaging in that discussion. Isn't this stonewall approach similar to what scientists do in regard to non-scientific challenges of their work most of the time?

Isn't it reasonable to interpret silence in more ways than one?

‘their silence’ could also be perpetuated by the fact that globalism hasn’t hit, if at all, in middle eastern, war-torn homes.
