Well, I will start by saying I am a person who holds Mayor Booker in high regard. I learned of him through a newspaper article. I can truly say that article about him and the work that he is doing in Newark not only inspired me, it changed the trajectory of my whole life. He, through his commitment to public service and demonstration of integrity, reaffirms my faith in humanity. His goodness makes me want to be better.

Anecdotally that has meant for me truly committing myself to battling through a major depression, which at the time that I read of Mayor Booker, had me convinced that my best days were behind me. Now I hope for more…and do more. My faith was awakened…my hope was renewed. That alone is a blessing for which I will be eternally grateful to the Mayor.

It's a blessing to be a vessel through which the light of God shows. Whenever I read of Mayor Booker, or hear him speak, that's what I see…that light…and it renews my desire to be blessed/positioned to be a blessing to people. This conversation was another example of that light showing through him.
