I see poetry on the internet as instrumental in bringing poetry to the masses. There definitely is a vast amount of enthusiasm in writing poetry ,apart from the avid readers who now find it easier to access good quality poetry on the web.If you go through the Poemhunter site you find hundreds of people trying to write poetry which they would not have attempted otherwise .It is of course true that a majority of the poetry on the net does not qualify as good quality poetry but that hardly makes a difference.
