I agree that the legislation mentioned did happen during the Bush administration, but on the flip side are all the regulations that were undone, such as taking wildlife off endangered lists, leveling mountains for coal mining, not joining the global Kyoto Accords movement, etc. Congress and the administration share responsibility for our current dependence on non-renewable resources, but the vision came from our “imperial presidency.” My hope is that science and environmental researchers regain their voice and legitimate ground in the coming months.
