There is only the past in the human experience, present and future are illusions based in then fact that we can process the information recieved which has always occured before our capture and process of it. Time is actually a gauge or measure of the past, never the present. The present is a point occurance at the leading edge of the past, with "time" being any measure of interval backward from that edge. It should be noted that "light" only appears to be the maximum speed based in our perception of time - simply because - we cannot measure anything faster, this by no means gives a true limit, but an estimate based on our abilities as to a probable limit.What Einstien was showing is that time is an illusion based on the ability to measure the "change" percieved which we relate as "time". Time does not really dilate, but the perception of the quantity we measure as time. Light being only an absolute as our current abilities have light or EM energy as the fastest known transmission of information.
