this doesnt make much sense, perhaps you should reread your work before you post. and by the way who is an authority on freedom. There are dozens of very free countries in this world.

First we only have 500 characters to post so you are reading an essence of ideas. I did post what I meant. Second, freemdom for such a diverse group not a single group is what America is about. It is not hard to agree with everyone if they look and act much like yourself. Then you can call that freedom because it works for all of those people? Freedom within a diverse enviroment is where freedom truly exists and is not a form of freedom. Thank you for your response though.

still would agree with igmscholar. Americans have many wonderful traits, but a knowledge of the outside world is not one of them. There are some very good examples of a free democracy in the US which do not exist elsewhere, I would count the primaries among them. But there also are deficits which would not be tolerated in other countries. No German goverment would have survived the uncovering of such massive family-based measures for manipulating an election as in the case of Bush vs. Gore in Florida (a story of money over democracy). If the US is disliked for anything, it is exactly for this overwheening attitude. You have lots of good stuff to offer, just get off your high horse before offering it! It would make the world a better place indeed.

Knowledge of the outside world was why America was created in the first place. It is also the reason it is and always will be so different from the rest of the known  world you speak of. I would agree that there are problems within this country. It stands to reason a young country with such a high standard will have challenges meeting or maintaining that standard as it is spread out over so many diverse cultures. No one has all the answers or meets all of the challenges of any society even Germany. Rather as I pointed out where a majority rules it may look to you as a great government but within its framework you will see injustice for the minorities some that exist some that no longer exist. I will be the first to say to you on your best day or your worst day I feel nothing more than equal to you. Thank you for your comment.
