I certainly wasn’t implying in my response that anyone was angry or even that I was angry. I guess I have just often seen these types of conversations turn into just bashing and the putting of each other down, which I certainly have no intentions of doing. In response to you, Musycks, first of all I am certainly no theologian, but I am trying to learn as much about the Bible and my faith in God as possible. First of all God is not a sort of tooth ferry or Santa Claus, He is extremely powerful and at times ferocious. Second of all, he is not a Jeanie where someone can just make wishes to him and He will simply grant them. As to why God lets some of his people suffer and not others, that is a difficult question to answer and one that I admittedly struggle with at times. Sin (us not meeting up to God’s standards) has certainly has something to do with it, he hates it. And he punishes people for it, even generations later can punished for the sin of their forefathers. We all deserve God’s wrath, but it seems we all certainly don’t get it, or some worse than others at least I can tell you this as a fact though, when people are trusting in God through extremely difficult times in their lives, no matter what they have an inner peace because they know that God is in control, and they trust Him to get through. I know this is vague but feel free to comment.
First let me make this clear, it is utterly crucial that we take care of our environment and our world, we only get one and if we totally screw this one up....well then we are screwed. But are we willing to push this so far, so fast that we are willing to sacrifice our freedoms and our economy. For example, our government wants to penalize people who buy SUVs’ or performance cars. First of all, this is a freedom we have to buy whatever vehicle we desire if it meets all crash standards and emission standards. What about the people whose life dictates that they buy a truck or SUV for work, have a big camper, or whose jobs necessitates these types of vehicles? Should they be punished with extra taxes? Secondly, there are so many ridiculous regulations of automakers now that are costing them billions of dollars. I understand the importance of fuel economy but there are those in Washington who are trying to implement these rules who are clueless to the automotive industry. For example, a certain secretary of transportation was unaware that it takes over five years for once a vehicle becomes a concept until it is brought out for sale to the public, and this same person wants to implement fuel mileage regulations way to quickly that cause these automakers to scramble, it causes them to spend more money that they don’t have and it is going to force them to raise the cost of their vehicles further worsening our current economic state. … Read More

by my faith in the Man, I am not proposing that I can just sit around like a lazy bum and just say that He is going to take of everything. It states in the Bible (oops i did just say that) that I am supposed to work my butt off at my job, to provide for my family. But in my life I know that God ultimately loves me (He did send us his one and only son) and that he will provide for me if I truly trust in Him. The problem arises when believers' completely attempt to do their own thing. When we do that nothing ever works out as well as when we trust in God and follow him in our trust. This may seem like a load of crap to many, but I have so many experiences in my own life where this is true. For example, I often worry about how the heck I'm supposed to pay for college right now with the economy, but every semester God has provided . And in response to the debate challenge, I am certainly willing to talk to anyone about this and swap beliefs and ideas about life….but what’s the point of debating when the only thing that happens in debates is anger and frustration with the person your debating
One of the most popular questions asked at a job interview by the person being interviewed is what is the company’s 401K like? This question sheds light on the topic that Americans are incredibly worried about the future. Parents are worried about their children’s future, while they are worried about the economy and their retirement funds. Wouldn’t it be great if there was something out there that made you worry-free about the future? Something that would take all the stress away in everyone’s lives. Well fortunately for us there is an answer. In my own life I know I don’t need to worry about a thing, and let me tell you it is great. My trust comes from the Man himself, Jesus Christ. Through my faith in Him, I know he is in control, and I have nothing to worry about. … Read More

Richard, I feel where you are coming from. This day in age we all want to be able to see, hear, or touch what we are willing to give up our lives for, or at least watch it on youtube. The problem arises when how do you deny God when there is more evidence that Jesus was here on earth, performed miracles, and rose again then there are that William Shakespeare existed. Also there are many leading scientist who are continuing to lose their grants because they feel that there has to be some sort of higher intelligence or creator out there. It is quite easy to google this stuff and find biased information, but if you truly research this stuff, evangelical Christians do have a point in all of this. It’s almost as if we find it easier to blow all this stuff off and say it’s a hoax than try to research and deal with stuff through unbiased research.
