A far better question is who can we trust to regulate the internet? Politicians" The government? Liberal social engineers? Corporate oligarchs? None of the above! The issue is how we preserve the chaotic nature of the internet, of maintaining the electronic equivalent of a primordial jungle.

The danger is that confuse privacy of our persons with freedom of thought and expression. Inroads on viewing the contents of our clothing are demeaning but not destructive; inroads on viewing our thoughts are the ultimate form of tyranny.

The program started out as a wonder of rediscovering what information technology could do for education. Now it has been sabotaged by the West's corporate oligarchs and is failing before it could actually start. If anything OLPC is an embarrassment of the continued imperialism that defines western european civilization.
