Say Hello to the Bad Guy: Jonathan Pryce on Love, Acting, and Margaret Thatcher

Jonathan Pryce is the complete actor, able to shape-shift, seemingly without effort, from a charming Mephistopheles (Mr. Dark in Something Wicked This Way Comes), to a hapless, heartbreaking everyman (Sam Lowry in Terry Gilliam's Brazil), to a scheming, jabbering, dangerous interloper (Davies, in Harold Pinter's The Caretaker, playing at the Brooklyn Academy of Music through June 17, 2012).

In this thought-provoking interview, he speaks with Big Think's Jason Gots about his homecoming after 35 years to the Liverpool Everyman theatre company, working in Hollywood, why British actors are so often cast as the bad guy in American movies, and his deep, abiding distaste for Margaret Thatcher.
