"Don't reinvent the wheel" – I say that a lot. A lot of developers like to show off their skillset by developing frameworks and extensive class structures that often just add complexity to a project. My philosophy is to keep things as simple as possible. The easier the code is to understand, the easier it is to maintain and troubleshoot (and upgrade). Feature-creep is often deadly.
