Ayaan Hiris Ali is right. You don’t have to do anything more than see how well the government is at running things without losing all the money. The government mismanages everything, and often at great expense, possibly to end in total failure.

This financial crisis isn’t a failure of the free market. Fannie and Freddie were under federal regulation, and some large financial institutions behaved irresponsibly, and now we are all in trouble because some of us asked for mortgages we couldn’t afford while others among us actually defied common sense and gave people mortgages they clearly couldn’t pay back.

Materialism, greed or bad judgment are all human failings, not failings of the free market, and are not going to be alleviated by government intervention. In all likelihood, the government’s cure will be worse than the disease.

I like her, but the musical interludes in the clip were annoying.
