I chose to ask a question on people's faith because faith has always intrigued me. At what point does a person have "faith"? I know a lot of Christians are saying someone needs to "walk the walk" to be a believer, but at what point does one start walking? Is there a conversion experience? And is that experience as simple as making a decision at a certain point to believe certain things? People also say that faith is "believing in things unseen", but can you have faith in things that you can see? And if faith is simply just believing in what you can't see, then do I have faith when I say that there are people in China? I can't say that I have ever heard a useful working definition of faith in my entire life, and was wondering if I could get some help in this area. I feel like I've been left with just a vague idea of what the word faith really means.
