I believe more emphasis should be placed on feeling empowered about making mistakes, being sure, of course, to always take the lesson and be encouraged by it. My own general observation sees people (including myself) being much too scared to go through many of life's experiences due to the perceived potential ridicule or embarrassment of failure. As I view it, failure is an integral part of a growth process that we all go through in order to figure out or master whatever we are doing be it raising a child or learning a musical instrument. In changing the perception of making mistakes from punishment and ridicule to viewing it in the light of encouragement, compassion and motivation, hopefully we will get to see more people willing to take a chance and make a positive change.
