We are told to plan this and that for our future. We are told to make sure we follow through on everything to make our future more successful...but does it actually work that way? There are so many things that cause stress in life, and so many sources that are said to cause it, and they are all around us and very hard to avoid. We all experience it, usually attached to worrying about circumstances and other similar trials. Threats, fear, uncertainty, and many other things are (from what I have read) some of the leading causes of stress. There are also other things like death, health issues, change, arguments, and money that can sometimes cause great deals of anxiety and stress. But then you turn around and you realize that God says things like "do not worry" so repeatedly in Scripture (Matthew 6 and Mark 13 for example). It is a life-lesson that Jesus taught us. He tells us not to worry about our future or anything tomorrow, so why do we fail to listen so often? Why is it so hard for us? Is it simply the WORLD and its influences that cause us unhealthy levels of stress? I believe that if our hearts are set not on our lives, our families, our possessions, etc., that that is when God takes away our stress. When we are simply living for His kingdom and not our own, that is when we can experience PEACE from the stresses of life. Do you agree with this? Disagree? Would you like to add anything to these claims and/or information?
