This question has several problems. The first is that an objective standard of "suffering" cannot be reliably quantified...do we just mean "pain", or some deeper concept? Also, why is there the assumption (by most, anyways) that suffering is caused by anything but ourselves, (other than obvious random accidents and such)? Perhaps we need it on some level to be human, (another term that can have a broader meaning than is obvious), and that, in a world without suffering, we might not find a greater hell than any we know of now?

Less pretensiously, maybe we should just learn to just deal with it already....
