Interesting idea Winsome. Many of the experts we have interviewed cite religious texts as crucial to their development, but I can't recall how many of those experts were under 40...A question I wonder about is how much exposure the under-25 generation has to religious texts. It seems to me like they may not have very much. On the other hand, world events in the past 8 years seem to have made citizens of the US, for better or for worse, begin to examine global religion. We have an upcoming feature on religious identity that will feature Paul Barrett (author of American Islam) and I urge you to check out what he says about the role of religion in the US today. I also think an interesting conversation might be opened up by checking out some ideas in "Faith and Beliefs", particularly the ones relating to interpreting religious texts.
