This might not be popular but let me say that pessimism is preferable to optimism. Optimists believe, in basis, that things will workout. They expect the world to resolve around them. That somehow the universe has order, that it will resolve to their will. Hey, hope isn’t a bad thing when you beat the odds, but bet against chaos and expect to pay the house. Pessimism is the realist approach. The world is not going to resolve to what we want and if it does… that’s pretty badass, but it does not mean that the universe is rational. It just mean in luck, and luck is beating the odds for that moment.
