I could not find the thread where you asked me if I knew of any events similar to the one going on at SUNY. I couldn't find any groups in your neck of the woods, but I strongly recommend you contact the Center for Inquiry in Washington DC for news about any activities that I don't know about.

Why not set up a group on your own campus? They are extremely keen to involve intelligent young people like yourself and they give grants to students who are financially challenged.
